In the beginning of 2013 Tbilvino partnered with the largest UK retailer Marks & Spencer. As a result of Marks & Spencer delegation visit, thorough inspection of the enterprise and several wine tastings Qvevris white dry was selected to introduce to the UK wine consumers.
The launch of Qvevris wine is planned for the end of November. Qvevris wine produced by Tbilvino is the first from Georgia to go on sale in Marks & Spencer chains.
Qvevris white dry wine is made using traditional Georgian (Kakhetian) winemaking practices. The oldest Georgian grape variety Rkatsiteli is crushed and put into the qvevri (clay vessel buried in the ground) and left for fermentation for few months on the skins.
Qvevris wine can boast for its International and local recognition at the wine completions –the wine was awarded with Bronze at International Wine and Spirits Competition 2012 in London, and received two gold and a silver medals at Georgian International Wine Competition in 2011, 2012 and 2013
